Jumping in on the mailbox bandwagon! These are so cute! I plan on making one for each of my children to use throughout the year and put little mommy loves you notes in!
I made a slit up to the the bottom of the flag and then used my 1/2" circle punch at the top of the slit. I was able to slide the paper in and the cirlce punched area is completely unseen underneath the the bottom portion of the flag pole. The paper with it slit goes back together, you can cannot tell it has been slit. Hope this helps someone!!

Funny, I went to Target yesterday just in case...I found some! I did the same thing as you described on mine (before reading this!) and loved the results. I need to snap some photos to post. I love yours. Very nice.
