This week's colors are so happy and tropical, but somehow my card didn't end up there. Still, we go where our muse takes us. Sadly, I cannot get my photos to show the true colors but my blue is more coastal cabana blue and the yellow is more daffodil yellow IRL
To make the bg, I first brayered each color individually on a gelli plate and pulled a print. I laid the dotted stencil on the plate and pulled a second print on the same cs. The dots only really showed up in the blue. Stenciled the leaves and then stamped a few more images. Added the hummingbird in black. Had the sentiment all perfectly lined up using a transparency first to make sure it was in the exact right spot...yeah, you guessed it...something shifted and it was in the exact wrong spot. Enter the sentiment tag framed in black and popped up. I ended up matting the entire panel in black to tie into that tag.
Such are the adventures of a card maker. I hope you will be feeling adventurous and join in the color fun this week. TFL

Great substitute with the CP inks, I have those colors as well and look forward to using them together this way. Such a pretty background showcasing the challenge colors along with extra stenciling and stamping for added interest. I love a black silhouette stamp or die cut against an inked background and yours looks stunning! You covered your blooper perfectly (we've all been there), so well in fact that we'd be none the wiser if you hadn't mentioned it. Well done, beautiful card!

Gorgeous! That BG is amazingly beautiful. The simple large humming is stunning and the stencil work is awesome. The headline is the frosting on this gem...
