Believe it or not, I have no gladiolus stamps...and I'm an August baby. I must remedy that. But I do have an eagle so that is where this went. My family are pretty fascinated with raptors of any type. Eagles are very faithful as a couple, equally share sitting on the nest and feeding the juveniles. I find it interesting that unlike most birds, the female is larger than the male and they both look almost exactly alike. And you know the cry that eagles make that you hear in movies? That's not what an eagle ever sounds like. Those are red tailed hawks. Do you have a special teacher that you remember or one that was tough but taught you well?? I certainly do and I thought focusing on teachers at this time of year was especially appropriate. Such a noble and difficult profession. And Gracie is a former teacher so there is that too.
Anyway, I used today's sketch for yesterday's teaparty tickle. Thanks, Gracie, for a very good challenge. I did use an old wood mounted for some foliage that looked similar to a glad if you are looking far away and squint. It's toward the bottom of the card, several colors of ep, hard to see unless you can tilt toward the light. I did partial diecutting for the oval. My embossing is the vellum and the heat embossing. I was happy to find this old BG paper called Indian Summer, mostly reds, oranges, some pink and gold. Lovely floral and leaf patterns! Indian summer is usually a time after when the weather warms after a frost.
Thanks for a nice sketch, Lisa!

I always loved the colours in that Indian Summer pad. Love the banner sentiment and out-of-the-box eagle. Great sentiment. I had a few really good teachers - but also a couple of not great ones. I admire those who make it their profession.

I love the detailed write up you gave for this card. I love the large raptors too and was happy to see an Osprey over our lake yesterday. Your use of that fantastic BG paper for your background was inspired. Beautiful card and great tribute to a difficult profession. TFS
