It is Christmas in July for the Color Challenge! This is my card for the Color Challenge hosted Jeanne. Her beautiful colors are Poppy Parade, Soft Succulent and Petal Pink.
I wish I could say that I painted this poinsettia, but actually, it is a decorative napkin.
I opened my Christmas bin of scraps and such. Right on top were these beautiful napkins that I had saved for the Felted Cardstock technique by Lydia. I had learned it here on SCS during a stamp event.
Amazingly, the colors were a perfect match for Jeanne's challenge! There is a pinecone but it matches one of the new neutral colors, Pecan Pie.
After my napkin was felted onto the cardstock, I die-cut it into a stitched rectangle and layered on Poppy parade. I added an embossed strip of Petal Pink to the card base to bring out the color in the poinsettia center; I also added some rhinestones in the center. I wrapped middle of the card with a beautiful shimmer ribbon. This is a larger card measuring 6.25 x 4.75 inches.
One idea before I close. For a coordinated table setting for the holidays, buy extra napkins and make matching place cards with this technique. Your guests will be amazed!
Beautiful colors. I look forward to seeing your creativity and ideas! Merry Christmas in July.
