This background isn't as bold as I thought it would be. Maybe I should have used different distress oxide inks. Anyway, in person it looks more of a gold color so it does show off the pink flower. I embossed the sentiment and stem in gold and also around the edge.

What a gorgeous lotus flower, and it really stands out against that pretty background. I DO see gold in the background and it blends perfect with the lotus flower center. Lovely work!

Well it's gorgeous even if it isn't as bright as you thought it might get. I know what you mean about DOX, though. It's a bit of an experiment for me every time I use them. But the gold bg is perfect to show off that beautiful bloom and I love how you colored it up. And a bit of glitter to make it really shine is a great touch. Lotus seem such a tranquil flower to me. I think Waltraud will enjoy seeing this beauty everyday. Wonderful card.

Lovely lotus flower, Polly! The touches of gold shimmer are great! And I think your beautiful background is just perfect!

Ha, ha, when I first looked at this I thought the doily and orange background were part of the card. I was revelling in the unexpected colours. Your lotus in pink is really beautifully coloured. I think those stencilled leaves couldn't be better for your floral focal point. What a great card!
