Over at the Watercolor Challenge, Kia has us doing sheep in spring (fab tutorial by Karen Rice) and over at the MMTPT teaparty, Polly has us making inspirational and happy cards.
Had a short amount of time this morning and thought I could whip up a quick painting. That is when the adventure started I didn't have a pencil in sight so used a black ink pen and it blurred when I added water.....I messed up my first sketch so I flipped the watercolor paper over (not the same let me tell you)... I didn't have time for air drying so did 10 seconds in the microwave each time (I don't recommend this as it is dangerous)... I shook my white paint and it spilled all over my hand and floor... and other fun things happened. The coolest thing is that I still love how this turned out and I hope Pam does too.
Thanks Polly and Kia.

I love how it turned out too. Waterproof pens for watercolour is something I remember my dad always buying, way way back. Your sheep are just delightful and I love the Spring background. I'm glad you didn't burn anything in the microwave!!

Wow, what an adventurous morning. Glad you made it! I've had to flip my paper over a few times before -- can't waste Arches, so I know how it fells. I love how your card turned out. Your perseverance sure paid off. The foliage looks beautiful.

This turned out great, Nancy - Your sheep turned out white & fluffy (even with the pen sketching) and the bg greens & pinks stayed true.
PS - I use a hair dryer for a quick dry on watercolor - much safer than a microwave!

LOVE your sheep, and the story behind them (think I’ll take a pass on attempting this lol). That pink and green floral background is also fabulous. Great card!!!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has disasters when crafting! I love the sheep, they turned out perfectly! And love the background too. Wonderful card!

A fantastic and fun card! Your design, your BG, and the watercolor work are superb as always. I love how you "arrived" at the finished piece. Your talking sheep are so clever...
