Don't know how much mine "glow", but they are Christmas lights. I varied from the tutorial to be a bit more realistic...having many electrical engineering friends, they would blanch at putting a metal screw top to a "hot" wire. So I put an insulator cap on the bulbs and also gave the string a double wire....think it has something to do with current.

I love the translucency of those bulbs - I can tell they are the newer clear glass as opposed to the opaque bulbs of my childhood. I like the realistic twists and turn in your cording too - I've never seen straight untangled wiring on bulbs in all my life . . .
