Karen is our hostess in the Color Challenge this week. The bright and yummy palette is Blushing Bride, Parakeet Party and Tahitian Tide. The dessert option, which I skipped this week, is music.
This is a CAS, quick and easy card that shows off one of my favorite techniques, Emboss Resist. I started out with a sheet of Smooth Bristol cardstock. I stamped with VersaMark ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. After it had cooled, I blended on the three colors, using Distress Oxide Inks, which match this week's colors remarkably well.
I die cut and stamped the greeting with Salty Ocean ink and heat embossed with clear powder. A tip (thank you, Jennifer McGuire) is to die cut the shape first, and then fit the stamp over the die cut.
I mounted the design layer on a base card of Tahitian Tide, added the greeting, and then added a scattering of Cloud 9 drops. I love that stuff!
Thanks for stopping by, and please play along with us this week!
