This week's Featured Stamper, Cindy (aka Cindy H.), has a clean CAS style that is sure to inspire. And, if you love Halloween cards, you definitely need to check out this Gallery because there are many many spooky "treats" in store for you. While I debated over several of her cards, I kept coming back to this one: DTGD20LuvLee Don't Lose Hope by Cindy H. at Splitcoaststampers
I loved the stripy bg dsp she used as well as her monochromatic colors. I wanted to see if I could recreate the feel of the dp with stamps. I kept her stripes, leaves, flowers, flourishes, monochromatic color scheme and the butterfly. I changed the color to a violet for a friend who loves purples and changed out the stamps and butterfly die cut. I also kept a bolder print on my sentiment to simulate hers.
To create my background, I started with a piece of light lavender Bazzill cardstock and used the canvas side to give it more interest, I swiped the three lightest CP inks down the panel, similar to the faux wood technique. I then randomly stamped the leaves in the midtone ink and the flourishes in white finishing off with the flower in the darkest shade. Added the sentiment and butterfly (note: the antenna is from another die set..I just can't do a butterfly without antennae..LOL). I glued the panel on two additional pieces of cs to give a little lift from the base. The base and the butterfly are the same cs as the original lavender panel that I started with for the bg.
We all have so many beautiful images that star on our cards, but for me it is the beautiful backgrounds and layers and embellishments you all use that take your cards from blah to wow and that's what I loved about Cindy's card. This came together rather quickly and I am quite pleased with how the background turned out. Each time I try to create one, I try something new and that is the fun of it, isn't it.
Congratulations Cindy. You have a delightful Gallery with much to inspire and I hope you feel inspired anew from the many cards made in your honor this week. And, I hope all of you are having a wonderful day and that you will be inspired to try something new as well. TFL.

I keep going back and looking at this beautiful card with so many terrific elements. You created one lovely background with the various purples and the delicate stamping. The butterfly finishes it nicely. Fav'd TFS
