This week our Tea Party Hostess, Lisa, has challenged us to use an envelope and smiles on our cards for her own nephew, William. William's induction into the Navy has been delayed by multiple stress fractures in his legs and feet. Ouch! He told Lisa that getting mail brightens his day while he's recuperating, so the Tea Potters are going to light it up for him.
I was a bit stumped on this until I remembered this guy whom I met back in the Operation Write Home days. I really like Lisa's (aka ShoeGirl) patriotic color scheme and I couldn't improve on Dustin's so I basically copied him. Here's a link to Lisa's great card: MMTPT698 Happy Mail by Shoe Girl at Splitcoaststampers
To construct the card, I printed the sentiment and image and then die cut with the frame die. I printed a second image which I colored and fussy cut so I could paste on top of the loop. The loop die is actually a heart which I cut off and then added the larger star. Added some smaller stars to make it a bit more festive. The sentiment is computer generated using Sweet Sorrow and Regina Bold fonts.
I hope the cards headed to William truly brighten his day. And, I hope your cards and crafting brighten yours as well. TFL.

Love the star theme you have got going on and the patriotic colors. Thanks for the link back to Lisa's card. Hey, we used the same wonky die for our cards! Great minds think alike! Your sentiment is perfect too!
