Our TeaParty cards this week are going to a fellow TeaPotter, Vickie Y. Polly (peeps321), our hostess has asked us to think pink, flowers, Asian, butterflies, and gnomes...how could you not be cheered by pink, flowers and lovely women?
The Sketch Challenge 848 was fresh and played perfectly into my idea. Thank you Cathy!
I knew immediately I'd use 'Fuji Goddess' by Stampington & Co. She's so serene and beautiful. I stamped her with VersaFine 'Onyx Black' on Mixed Media paper. I clear embossed just the flower buds in her hair and colored with three shades of Copics.
The rice paper panel is an ancient Art Supply store speciality paper. I confess to hoarding this lovely paper. For the third horizontal panel, I decided to use Stamp Francisco's Hanging Lanterns. I used multiple embossing powers, Copic Markers and Gelatos to add dimension. Finished by weaving a gold braid through the lanterns.
The sentiment is from a PSX set.
Wishing you a peaceful day, no matter what comes your way!

What a beautiful and peaceful Asian themed card using the sketch, Susan! The red and gold add to the Oriental feel of the card! Love the dimension and texture of the top most panel...Vickie will be thrilled to receive this beauty!

Oh Susan, this is exquisite. It's a piece of art that will surely be treasured. The sketch seems tailored-made for your theme and you added the perfect elements at each level. It's difficult to pick a favorite because each panel has something special and unique; but, I do truly love the way you highlighted just a portion of the gorgeous Fuji Goddess. Stunning.
I love how you combined the challenges and came up with this work of art, Susan! My favorite are the embossed lanterns, and how you trimmed the top of the panel to echo it, the gold braid is genius! I confess to hoarding lovely papers, too - and I have a sneaking suspicion that most of us here are the same
