Whenever I think of cherry blossoms, I think of two things: Washington DC and the song 'Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White.' For some reason, as a very young child, I had a 45 of that song and listened to it all the time. I know, I was weird.
Most of the time, I photograph my cards in the same place. On the left, behind the card, is a drawing my Dad did in 1953. I think he'd be proud that I'm working on my art. I had a lot of fun painting these blossoms, feeling competent and confident. I also painted some extras, fussy cut them out for today's WT and popped them up. Added a little metallic wc to those and some rose gold Liquid Pearls, which are my favorite embellishment these days. This will probably be an April birthday card for a good friend. Someday I'll see those Washington DC cherry blossoms.

So pretty! You di very well with getting the darker centers to bleed into the lighter petals in just the right amount! That was the hardest part for me.

Beautiful card Jean and I always think of the blossoms in Japan now. I’d love to see them in Washington DC one day. Love the painting your dad did too. TFS. Happy day

Your blossoms are beautiful and popping up a few of them make them look almost real. I think going to DC when the trees are in bloom would be a wonderful adventure. The pictures are always gorgeous, but there's nothing like seeing something in person. Obviously, artistic creativity runs in your blood. I am sure your Dad is very proud of you.
