Margaretha Pineapple is turning 102 and we're throwing her a tea party. How fun is that! OK. So Margaretha's last name isn't actually Pineapple--it's Pijnappel, but that's how it's pronounced. No, I simply could not resist using my pineapple stamp that has been waiting on my list of stamps to use. And I used masking fluid for the first time ever. It was pretty neat. I stamped all the pineapples and then painted them with the "liquid frisket" (fun words). After it dried I sponged the yellow background and splattered with water for some texture. It took a little while to get the hang of rubbing it off without tearing the paper, but I think the results are pretty cool. I colored the pineapples as the last step. I'm using Jeanne's lovely colors today and my favorite green (Copic YG17 Grass Green) for dessert. I used a Power Poppy stamp that has both tulips and a bow. And Margaretha is from Holland, so I get to use my Dutch stamps again! Yippee!!

Super fun card. Pineapples were perfect for both challenges. How kind of you to personalize your card with the birthday girl's favorite things and a sentiment in Dutch. A very special card!

I agree with Polly .... this card deserves EXTRA cookies for all the delightful details ... especially the pineapples and the Dutch greeting!

And you got to use your Dutch stamps again! Yay! What a delightful and fun card. That bg with the pineapples is amazing and a lot of work. And, of course, you snuck in just the right amount of orange. What a wonderful and happy card!
