I made this card for 2 challenges. The first challenge is for this week's Alphabet Challenge. Ann is our hostess and she has chosen the letters OW for this week's challenge. The O part of this challenge was a cinch for me, but adding in the W was a challenge.
The 2nd challenge this card fits is the Inspiration Challenge. Angie is our hostess and she has chosen a company called, "Eye on Design" for our inspiration. As soon as I saw this cool piece of art, I had my OW card: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/695032154979422140/. What I loved were the colors and how this piece drew me in.
I made these multi-step tulips at a friend's house before COVID-19 was even known about. I brought the tulip die die cut home and put it in my file for "someday." Today turned out to be "someday." The artwork I chose has a very blue eye so I chose to use blue for the background to really highlight the orange flowers.
The cloudy sky piece is made with Tim Holtz distress inks, sprayed with water and then smashed. I have never tried this exact technique before and it is really fun to do. I need more practice, but it is quick and easy.
Assembled the card and stamped the sentiment. The OW's in this card are for orange and for wishing and the watery blues used too.
Thank you Ann and Angie for the great challenges this week and thank you for looking too! ~Karen.

Oh, Karen, the orange and blues are just so Popping Beautiful together! I love how you did that technique in the lighter blue and used a darker shade for the cb! *White starts with W, so next time you are having trouble with that letter, just think white~ Hugs
