Hope you all have stamping buddy that inspires you to try new things. I have a couple and they totally stretch me.
One is Jayne - Ozpom. She loves learning and mixed media - two of my favorite things. We have been watching videos and recently challenged each other to combine two fun videos into one card. This is the result.
One video is by Maremi's Small Art - adding texture:
the other is by Gabrielle Pollaco - vintage dress
You are welcome to try it as well.
I started with a rectangle piece of an Amazon Box. Wrapped in wrinkled up tissue paper with lots of gesso and silver metal thread. Once it was dry, I wanted more texture, so I added some white gesso over a handwriting stencil.
I tried adding some colors with ink, spray and paint but was loving the pink so I spritzed on more water until mainly it is pink. Still needed something so added some frantage. Heat and this fun panel did some interesting things so I probably wont do that part again. To finish the panel, I distressed it up with some Vintage Photo distress ink
Then the dress. I had some fabric paper purchased in a loose stack of paper at Hobby Lobby years ago. When I got it wet and started folding, I realized it had sticky paper on back and it stuck together. I finally had to take the fabric off the backing for the skirt 30 minutes later... Handcut the top, added the wings, and gessoed on the tea bag (from Teresa - aztk).
Super fun project - thanks for playing with me Jayne!
P.S. Watched The Dress Maker while making this - LOL!

Oh, Nancy, this is awesome. You are the mixed media queen. I haven't been able to come close to achieving it. I love the dress and all the texture. Way 2 go!

Beautiful! I love that dress. Does it come in my size? Wonerful textured silver bubbles. Is that what you call frantage. I'll have to look that word up on google.
