For Lisa's fun WTUI challenge this week, which you will findHERE.
I made this background piece using the color=darkorange]Paper Mosaic tutorial[/color]; I used offcuts from gel prints where they extended beyond stencils I had used, and TH collage medium. I think most of them came from my Monday TLC sample. And then I didn't know what to do with it, and then it was yesterday and I was running out of time to make a sample. So I used a poinsettia which I made before Christmas and which had got lost - it surfaces each time I tidy my desk. It was made using the Sizzix Susan's Garden poinsettia, and Bazzill, with Prills for the centre. I punched some ferny foliage from one of my tomato paste tubes to pair with the threaded ribbon border, which was left from my TPT card when I opted for a different border. The mosaic layer was cut with a Spellbinders label and edged with gold Stickles. The black layer was embossed with a brocade ef and rubbed with Craft-T rub-ons, then edged with red Stickles. I threaded some ribbon through the border and attached it. Sentiment is also cut from tomato paste tube. I feel pretty meh about this, probably because I made it before I'd really let the mosaic piece speak to me.

I am glad you were able to get the flower used off your desk. I have had flowers on my desk at times too and know hos much work it can be to make then and never want them to go to waste. Great mosaic BG for it too. Thank you so much for this amazing sample this week.

I love the poinsettia on the Mosaic piece! I would definitely leave that part alone! The other layers are lovely as well. The gold on the embossed piece really says holiday! I think it all looks lovely together. But if you change anything, I'd be interested to see what you did. I know it would just get better if you do make changes!
