Thank you, Julie for a wonderful graphic style challenge site this week in Canva. I could be lost in there for days...better things. I chose this for the saying. We so need to remember that! And I'm seriously missing HUGS!
And Carla, you brought us a timely challenge with Umbrellas and Flowers for the Ways to Use It this week. Thank you for the inspiration....I love having options of 'things' for the challenges.
It's wonderful when you can go to your stash and pull out a panel with the beginnings of something.
This Tim Holtz sunburst stencil was made using Brushos and Tattered Angels 'Shimmer Spray'. I stamped the VLV 'Banksy' N.O.L.A. girl and embossed with Ranger 'Detail' EP. The piece was then sprayed with water and I took out some of the yellow/orange by tamping with Kleenex. And then more Brushos in the blues. Spraying and tamping until I was pleased with the look.
Added the raindrops and the C.S. Lewis quote, stamping on acetate with Stazon. Of course a few staples.
Here's a link to Where to Find NOLA Street Art if you are interested. Thanks for stopping by. Look up...there are far better things ahead of us! Virtual hugs....

That sun bursting out of the blue is amazing. Fantastic image, I don't know that one. The umbrella reminds me of some of the continental car washes which make me think of jellyfish. Great sentiments...

That gorgeous bg grabbed my attention straight off, once again setting off the yearning to own some brushos myself (While telling my self firmly it's not in my budget . . ) The shape of your image makes me think she is much like a Phoenix rising from the ashes or in this instance a genie rising from a cloud filled day.

Oh wow Susan, this is just glorious! What an incredible background this is for this wonderful image. I would never think to mix stenciling with ink smooshing so thank you for the inspiration on this. This sentiment is fantastic all on its own, but even more so with what we are all going through now. You really had fun with the challenges and it shows in this delightful card Susan. Here is a virtual hug (I miss hugs too). ~Karen.

Love your beautiful background and that radial pattern seems to just usher in that hope of better things to come. Love this little masterpiece, Susan!
