For Anita's super-fun challenge which you can find HERE. I do encourage you to try it. It took me about three goes to get something worth using, and this is what I learnt.
Your ink pad (milk) should not be too wet. Once I added an extra layer of kitchen towel into mine and made it drier, I got crisper images.
The iron needs to be hot - mine was as high as it would go.
Hot paper is very hot - don't burn yourself.
But after experimenting and finding what worked I had great fun, and made two butterflies, two shells and a flower. This is just a quick card as I need to go and cycle to the stores to make sure that I can make it in as far as work tomorrow without collapsing. I haven't cycled for about 12 years, and I only barely can get on DH's bike. But I'd like an option to public transport!
Stamped the butterfly and fussy cut. Cut a rectangle and embossed with a 3D ef. Stamped the sentiment in Versamark on vellum, embossed with gold and tore the edges. Voila. Our butterfly days will come again.
