I made this card for this week's Teapot Party. Susie is our hostess and she chose a wonderful theme of "Roadtrip to Lakeville" for this week's recipient.
Susie, I hope you can forgive me because I forgot about the fishing theme I was intending to do when I decided to make this card. I got busy stamping the 3 layers to the tree tops, the 2 layers to the tree trunks, then masking off the tree trunks so I could stamp the 2 layers of the lake. I kept the tree trunks masked off so I could sponge in the grass and sky. Removed the masks, added the sentiment, grass and flowers. I stamped the canoe image and I stamped it upside down. Ugh! So the watery shadow was on top and it was so obvious. Well, since there is no crying in crafting, I started over and redid the entire image panel. I always die cut the image panel first, but I forgot to do this so I did that after I finished stamping it. Wouldn't you know the sentiment is over a little too far to the right (head slap here). I hope Dan can overlook the placement of the sentiment and enjoy the peaceful lake scene instead. This actually was a really fun card to make, I just wish I had 2 cards to show for it instead of one. Alas, thank you for the great challenge Susie and thank you for looking! ~Karen.

Just gazing at that canoe gives me peace. What a wonderful card. I love those birch trees! Love all the little details like how you stamped the tufts of grass. This is one amazing card and I am sure will bring much comfort to Dan.
