When my kids were in 8th grade, they had to choose a collection to create for science: bugs and insects, seeds or wildflowers. There was enough trepidation about it that all the parents knew about it ahead of time and started to collect things in the summer. Bugs and insects were the easiest so that's what most did. I spent many a day, out in a field with a butterfly net.
Moths are so interesting to me. Not as colorful generally as a butterfly but such interesting markings. My moth is pretty fanciful, cut out of some wc background I had. I didn't mean for it to blend in with the background so much so I added some rose gold glitter paste. I had to tilt the card to get a better picture of the background, a leafy, buggy, branchy clear stamp embossed with the pearl ep. It blends beautifully with the green metallic paper. A ribbon slider card is basically a pocket card with the bow at the end acting as a pull for a plain piece of cardstock to write a message. It's a Jennifer McGuire technique.
This is for today's MIX (into the woods) and the F4A (going buggy). Here is an article about a caterpillar I saw in northern WI Labor Day weekend. They are the funniest caterpillars ever. They will form a pupa and not hatch until spring, which must be a feat in our winters. They will become milkweed tussock moths. http://bugoftheweek.com/blog/2014/8/...uchaetes-eglei
