Pat has us going "Old School" this week in honour of Kim (former Teapotter crazykim). Kim makes and sells the most wonderful sock monkeys. For every monkey Kim sells, she donates a sock monkey along with a bravery certificate to the children of New Zealand in the Oncology wards.
About my card, I went very old school (for me) and used DP as the main element. This Graphic45 range was one of my all time favourites. I have been hording this cover from an 8x8 G45 DP pad for a special occasion. Acknowledging Kim and her big heart is the perfect special occasion.
I printed a digi sock monkey on copy paper and coloured her with pencils, fussy cut and adhered to the background. The Harry Potter chappie (who I have since learnt isn't Harry), was originally coloured with pencils and highlights of Copics to be used on a bookmark for Arman (teaparty several weeks ago). This image looked too small on the bookmark, so another one was coloured for Arman and I put this one in my stash.
My old school theme continued - I used a circle punch for the sentiment and added ribbons.
Thank you for looking and I hope you get a chance to get inky for Kim.

Oh, Susie, I would hoard that spectacular paper as well! It is awesome and your addition of the sock monkey and little dude fit perfectly into the scene! Awesome card, Susie!

Great old graphic 45 paper Miss Susie and super images you paired with it too. I have some DPs that I hoard too that I really am going to have a hard time wanting to cut in to it and use...oh I need to stop hoarding it and use it. I am sure I will find the perfect card to be inspired and use it. I am sure Kim will cherish this beautiful card.

Covers from paper pads are great, aren't they! I used to keep the little thumbnail images from the big BG packs, they made perfect little quilt blocks. Fab paper, lovely little sentiment detail with the ribbon. I'm sure it's meant to be Harry, just not enough for copyright issues, no? You found a perfect home for him here.

Adorable scene you've created with that great PP, and the cute image of the sock monkey & "Harry Potter"!

I'm not sure if all your children in the bg are behaving...everyone seems to be doing their work except that one spanking her little friend, oh dear!
