I loved the glow behind the winter scene in this image here here, and one of my favorite styles of cards to make is a scene with masking, and sponging and splattering. Penny Black has so many stamps that work well for this and the work and tutorials of Heather Telford and Michelle Jordain have been another great source of inspiration for me. I thank them for sharing their talents!
Going section by section I masked the snow drifts, sponged the shadows, the lamp glow, and the sky and then stamped my silhouette stamps and sentiment. Then I splattered with white acrylic paint and sponged around the edges for more definition. So fun, more of these scenes to come!

WOW Maura! You outdid yourself on this one! Your lighting and snowdrifts are just so beautifully done! This is just gorgeous! Love the color of the sky blending with the yellow of the lights. I used to own this set until a couple of the stamps accidentally went through the washer and dryer. Awesome shading! WOW!

Oh, Maura, you create such awesome scenes, and this is one of them! I love the angle of the snow banks, silhouette couple, glare from the lampposts, beautiful sky and placement of the trees. I LOVE this remarkable card, Maura!
