It's time for a new Color Challenge and this week Mary is hosting. She's chosen the beautiful fall combination of Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry and Tranquil Tide with a dessert option of a Fall or Thanksgiving theme. I may have squeaked by with dessert with the leaves in fall colors???
The leaves were stamped on watercolor paper, clear water added separately to each then colors dropped in, letting the water mostly do the color mixing. For the leaf at the top I first added Tranquil Tide but then made sure Crushed Curry altered the color a bit so it would look different than the Tranquil Tide background. The panel was then splattered with Tranquil Tide and White Gouache.
When dry, the panel was trimmed to an A2 size, then cut in 3rds, with a bit trimmed between the panels, then all three were adhered to a white card base with Fun Foam. The sentiment was die cut with the square stitched square die and added to the middle, then a few Dew Drops scattered about. I saw this card design on the blog of Therese Calvaird (the last of 5 cards) and thought it would work perfectly for these large leaf images.
Thanks for looking and I hope you'll join us for the Color Challenge this week!

Oh, Stef, what gorgeous watercoloring, and I love the split panels. Thanks for sharing that you used white gouache for the white splatter! It's a stunning card, my friend, and a great use of this week's colors! Hugs and love! xoxo
