I often struggle with masculine cards and designing for a teen boy even more so . . . I had to find SOMETHING to jumpstart me on my grandson's birthday card which is fast approaching - Redbubble provided the perfect inspiration with this bag
I concentrated on the laid back attitude and the greens. I started with a stencil resist then did a smooshed ink over the top and finally ran it through my brick wall folder for a bit more texture. I ran across this teen boy digi that looks amazingly like my long lean grandson in his HS uniform so I colored him up with prismacolor pencils in his school colors. Fussy cut my image but found he kind of got lost in the bg so die cut some nesting stars from rust and maize dp to mount behind. Die cut individual letters & numbers for my sentiment and finished with a few emerald sequins because boys need some sparkle in their lives too.

What a fabulous card for your grandson. You have all the bases covered...beautifully colored image in his school colors, great masculine layout and fun sentiment. Love it!

Your work here is outstanding!! I love the soft coloring you achieved with pencils. Hard to belief after looking at this that you struggle creating this kind of card! He will love it!!

This is just perfectly cool, Linda! You got this perfect for your soon to be 18 grandson. Wonderful image which stands out so well against that big star, and the texture in your bg is wonderful. I love it!
