Pam is our hostess in the Color Challenge this week, and she has given us three colors that go so well together--Real Red, Garden Green, and So Saffron, with the dessert option of using a stencil.
I've had this shaker window die and frame for over a year, and have never used it. Bad me! These colors said Christmas to me! I was a little stuck on the dessert option, but I went through my stencils and found this one that features little snowflakes. I used embossing paste through the stencil, then covered with Iridescent Ice embossing powder, and let it dry. When the paste was dry, I used my heat tool to melt the powder. The snowflakes don't show up well in the photo, but they add a lot of sparkle and dimension to the Saffron background.
I decided a couple of festive Bitty Bears would go well with the shaker window and gave them some snow to stand on. I learned something big in this process. The card (version #1) was done, but when I looked at those two bears, it seemed to be missing something. I've heard so often about odd numbers and doing things in threes. So I thought maybe these two little guys needed a buddy. I created a third bear, spread Crystal Effects all over his big heart so it would be nice and shiny, and perched him standing on top of the first two bears. I like this much better!
I stamped the greeting and called it good. (I omitted telling you about the part where I tore the card apart a couple of times until I got the shaker window and its background just as I wanted it!)
Thanks for stopping by, and please play along with us this week!
