For Polly's Sweet Inspiration MIXed media challenge. Oh my, those cakes made me hungry this morning. But I knew straight off that I would ink up the icecream cones from Honeycomb Happiness, no need to say which of the images inspired me ;-). I stamped them on watercolour paper and coloured with Inktense pencils, added punched circles for the cherry noses, and half pearls for the eyes, and then Stickles for trim.
The main layer was some pigments mixed with a binding medium and painted onto textured acrylic paper. It's been in my box for a couple of months, originally destined for an underwater scene and never used. I embossed it with a happy birthday ef and punched the corners. Added the sentiment stamped on a banner and shaped with foam tape. The swirly scribble is cut from black glitter card and decorated with gold glitter circles, and one of the icecream cones is popped up on foam tape.
