For Lydia;s Just Add Patience MIXed media challenge. Out of one full sheet of card cut into quarters, I got less than an 8th of a sheet with the wonderful speckled distressed look I had loved in her samples. Not much - but enough to make a background in a polaroid die. Talk about patience - the little UFO was a lot of work, I stamped it on white card and embossed with silver. But I wanted the background to show through the dome, so I cut out the interior, and stamped my alien on vellum and laid it behind to see how it looked. Now the alien was see-through too, so I had to stamp him on white card, colour him again and use the Xyron X to stick him behind the vellum. And then I thought the dome needed "glass" to look right, so I added a layer of thin acetate between the UFO and the vellum layer.
Found a background in my box and added a stencil in white; it's from Clarity, and I think it's called Galaxy. Added a sentiment and some stars from Lawn Fawn on the polaroid frame, added some Stickles to the stars for Toni's WT challenge, spattered the whole background with SN clear glitter pen and edged ith with black pen. After adding it to the white base this morning I remembered I had some star sequins in my Christmas box, so I added a few of those in and popped the polaroid up on foam tape.
There's a close-up of the UFO showing better detail on my post in the challenge thread linked at the top.
