This week our Teapot Tuesday cards are going to Dr Sonja's mother. I drew on Sonja's paternal heritage to give my my Amsterdam houses, and her mother's love of irises to fill in the gap between my houses. Images stamped and masked. I stencilled in the brick and a flourish for the sky. Masked all this off and mirrored the houses. Confession - first time round I was super-lazy and just stamped the houses upside down. I made the canal water a bit darker and stamped Aida Cloth over it in brown and DH didn't realise they weren't proper reflections. But I did - so I did proper reflections on a piece of thin paper and put it on the base. Interestingly DH thought I had remade the whole card, he said it was much brighter. I guess the less "muddy" canal waters paid off ;-). It had to be tall to accommodate the houses (which are coloured with pencils), which was fine because it let me add the iris and sentiment. Fun to make - now I have to make a custom envelope so I can mail it.
Oh yes - the tin heart was embossed with Textile ef and sanded.
You can find the Teapot Tuesday challenge HERE if you want to learn why we are sending cards to Sonja's (Dr Sonja) mother.

Wow Sabrina - this is fab. You really put a lot of attention to the details and made it even more special by personalizing it. Your reflection looks great (even if you did "cheat"). Annette is sure to love this beauty!
