The second challenge is the Teapot Challenge, based on making a card for our dear SCS member Vicki aka Hawaiian who has not had a very good year so far with lots of pain and loss.
I decided to use my new found favourite background technique - Soap Bubble Art. I'm probably going to drive everyone nuts using this technique but I do love it. If you want to know what it is all about your best bet is to pop over the Kim's aka berlycece kid's VSN challenge and look at the video or you could follow the link here; JUL18VSNKIDS ~ Soap Bubble Art ~ Sat. To achieve the effect I did I used 1 part acrylic paint to 2 parts washing up liquid, I didn't add water.
The only issue I had with this card was stamping the greeting. From past experience dye inks do not stamp well onto acrylic paint, the paint seems to absorb the ink so I used StazOn but had to stamp several times and then I even went over the large greeting with Spica pen and again clear Wink of Stella just to add a bit of glitter.
Other than that it was pretty straight forward, I traced the image using my newly acquired light mat (boy does that make life a lot easier) then masked the image did the bubble background waited for it to dry, coloured the image did the stamping added the bow because I didn't like one of the leaves lol and finally added the liquid pearls and that's all folks.
Thanks for looking.
Cheers Marg

I’m with you, Marg! Soap Bubble Art is my new favorite thing too! Wasn’t it so fun? And the gorgeous backgrounds you get really make you feel like an artist!
This one is a stunning backdrop for your beautiful hibiscus!
