It started out to be vintage in my mind and I was headed on the right track by distressing my pattern paper with peacock feathers distress ink. Then I mixed up some dye inks and water and spritzed my flowers--they were supposed to look vintage"y". I even distressed the bright white decorative tape to antique it a little. I punched flower centers from the same bg paper and distressed my leaves cut from crumb cake and by the time I finished, the vintage somehow got lost. I dunno how that happens. Could be because I create by evolution--never know where I'm headed. Carlene will still like it!

Jean, your card really caught my eye in the thumbprint - so beautifully done and I do think the dp & flowers have a vintage look to them! Love the colouring of this beautiful card!

I LOVE this! Love the soft colors, the text in different places, the flowers as a focal and your doily tape to provide grounding for your sentiment - well done! Faved!

Your card is really beautiful Jean. I think the way you did the bg paper looks like old postcards which I love. The flowers and leaves are really lovely and so is the lace strip with sentiment. I do understand about card making taking on a life of it's own though- it happens. This is gorgeous and Carlene will love it! ~Karen.
