As usual I am inspired by the colors on our site today, especially in this image here.
I used the smooshing technique on acetate for the first time and loved the results (thanks to inspiration from the CAS mix-up Challenge). I found that it worked best for me if I just put some dots of ink in multiple places on the foil, smooshed, and then repeated this till I liked the results. I had to hold the acetate against a white bg to actually see how it looked and to decide when I was satisfied. As this dried I die cut my stitched opening from a piece of cs the same size as my card front and my flower branches, stamped sentiment and then attached all to the card front. Love how shiny the acetate looks but of course you can't see this in the photo.

Maura, you did a fantastic job of capturing the colors of your inspiration piece. The background turned out magnificently and the addition of the white die cuts is perfect! Great piece of artwork, my friend!!

WOW! Maura, what an amazing inspiration piece you've used (who knew about nettles?), and I LOVE how you were inspired by it. Your first time with the acetate technique, and you've got it down perfectly. It's gorgeous, and I love how you've used the flowering brand die (I have this...duh!) to show off the gorgeous "color dance." Stunning card that will be loved! I've pinned and faved this one. Maybe I'll have to try this someday. I have plenty of reinkers. Hugs, sweet friend! xoxo

Gorgeous colors and movement of the alcohol inks, Maura! The white die cut branches and frame make the acetate really stand out! Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up!
