I have been so excited to get to participate in this week's Teapot Tuesday challenge since it was posted. :-) Aunt Betty's story reminds me so much of my own grandmother's, who herself lived alone with her cat on her farm in the country, well into her 90s. From the second I read Aunt Betty's story, I knew I had to participate! I had expected to to make a card for Betty yesterday, but my husband and I spent our full day on our own future farmstead, working and planning out our dreams. :-)
I decided to combine several of the current SCS challenges in this card, so please bear with me as I describe them!
First off, this week's teapot Tuesday challenge challenge us to use sewing on the card. I interpreted this by using a stitched circular die, to make it look like I sewed around the edge of the circle. I love these dies! Also, for this challenge, it was mentioned how much Betty loves her farm, and I knew I had just the stamp set to use... one that I have not used in a while, but is very near and dear to my heart! The sentiment it contains I think is perfect for such a long life as Betty's, so I uploaded a picture of the inside of the car to my gallery also to share. :-)
I also used this week's sketched challenge, using the kissing technique to stamp off the hay bales in the background surrounding the circular panel.
Then, I Incorporated a couple of this month fanclub challenges, first the central theme of cut to the punch line, again was achieved through the use of my dies as well as using a corner punch. For the word play challenge, my interpretation of the word was:
J - jewels
O - circle image... shaped like an "O" ;)
K - kissing technique
E - enclosure of a handwritten letter to Betty plus I decorated the envelope
Phew! I think that sums it up! Thank you so much for the great challenges, the opportunity to bless a kind soul with a card, and for taking the time to view my card!
Hugs and blessings,
C

As they still have the hay fields where the deer are seen grazing quite often, this card struck me as one aunt Betty will really relate to, with the hay bales in the background as well as in the special image you chose! so kind of you to send this off to her!! God bless!
