I made this card for 2 challenges. The Teapot Tuesday challenge in which Pat asked us to use sewing on a card. I am stretching it a bit with the sewing because my "sewing" is the faux piercing on the dies. I actually made another card for this challenge that had sewing on it, but I accidentally made it a birthday card so this is my 2nd attempt, and then I forgot about the sewing (sigh). When I was done with this card I could see all the X's in the DSP so I am also entering this card into the Alphabet Challenge for the letter X. My photography skills leave a lot to be desired because these hollyhocks are much bolder in real life and show more contrast between the colors too. My grandmother always grew the most gorgeous hollyhocks so when I found this already colored image in my stash pile, I knew I was going to use this for Aunt Betty's card. Thank you for looking today. ~Karen.

I love hollyhocks too. And this is so gorgeous. I will be casing this one. I have that stamp and the S.B. die too. The background paper is perfection on this, Karen. And wonderful coloring on the hollyhocks, I might add.

This is so pretty. Love the way you have used the perfect design paper in the background. I have tried growing hollyhocks here too - but I think it is just too hot for them - think they would do best in a cool English country garden.

Karen, I have that die and now I am going to go dig it out - it looks fabulous in pink and framing up your gorgeous flowers. My Mom grew those when I was younger and I loved them. Beautiful card for Betty. Lovely!!!

Ooh, what beautiful hollyhocks. I almost never see them now...how sad. I'm sure this will be a winner with your Aunt Betty. Love your "stitched" frame...so gorgeous.
