I stamped the top part of the woman on kraft paper and cut her out. For her skirt I used torn strips of a paper bag. I burned the edges using a tea light and then quickly extinguished them with a wet paper towel. I added some gesso to the strips using a somewhat dry paint brush. The bg is stamped with sepia ink using a Cornish Heritage Farms bg stamp. I sponged around the edges and also sewed a frame. I wanted to keep the card in a neutral color scheme but for fun I colored the bumbershoot with purple colored pencils. Hugs to my friend Robin for sending me these CC stamps....they're so much fun to use!

WONDERFUL mixed media card! LOVE your Victorian lady with her burned paper bag skirt...guess that makes her a "bag lady"! Great vintage stamped bg and love that stitching!
