I am finally getting one more Christmas card done...I will make at least one more of this as I have not perfected the background stars. I was really unhappy with the stamp I used. It was not a large bg stamp and reminded me of a 2-inch amoeba, which made it difficult to place and get a full background of embossed stars! You either had to leave gaping places without stars or get them too close and overlapped.
I am able to enter this card into six challenges:
1. SCSCCDEC17 - Dirty Dozen's December Christmas challenge requiring nativity scenes, Christ, baby, stable, shepherds, etc.
2. CC17JUN - 2017 Christmas Cards challenge: June, which requires a religious card. This is my second and fulfills my quota for June!
3. DD8ABC15O - Letter O = Ornament/ Double Letter L = lightfastness - tell us about your ink. I used Encore Gold Metallic (Tsukineko), which is an oil-based pigment ink. It give a shimmery effect and can replace embossing, but it is slow drying--7 to 10 minutes. I distressed the edges of my gold foil layer, the ornament and the pines on their edges and backs all to cover any white showing. Had to let them dry overnight...boy were my fingers inky!
4. F4A407 - Free for All Challenge: Merry DECEMBER. Create a card celebrating your favorite December holiday. Dessert: Sparkle. My holiday is the birth of Christ, Christmas, and my gold foil is sparkly.
5. WORD1117 - Dirty Dozen NOVEMBER Monthly Theme: WORD = JOYS. My elements are: J = Jesus; O = Ornament; Y = Yule card (archaic for Christmas); S = Sparkle or Shine.

Beautiful Christmas card! The gold behind the nativity looks like a light behind it! Great job on all the challenges! Just realized I commented twice, it is a gorgeous card, also....
Happy New Year

Gorgeous nativity bauble card, Carlene! I love that you used recycled gold dot gift wrap (again!). The black silhouette die-cut is so beautiful against the gold. The ribbon and the pine die-cuts add dimension to the beautiful bauble. Hideko

Carlene, such a lovely Christmas card. Love the ornament and sweet scene. The black and gold are rich, and the foliage and bow are perfect. Hope it was a special Christmas for you!!!
