Using a technique I learned from Loll Thompson here, I created an alcohol ink bg (I was out of yuppo paper though so I tried Bristol vellum coated cs and it worked pretty well) with blues and some silver mixative. As it was drying I splattered on some white acrylic paint and also some more of the darkest blue alcohol ink. I love the effect this created. I matted the panel with silver foil cs and embossed the sentiment on my card front in silver. Die cut my tree and star and assembled - so happy with how it turned out!
I always love the techniques I learn from Loll!! Thanks Loll!

What a TERRIFC alcohol smooshed bg...love your white splatters. GREAT blues with the silver. Your white die-cuts are the perfect choices to complete the scene and finished off with your silver embossed sentiment!

Your background is GORGEOUS!! Love the mix of shades of blue Maura. The silver adds some extra shine. Great idea with splattering white and more of the alcohol inks. I have not tried splattering with AIs, but will now! Thanks for the shout out. And thanks for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up! xx
