For Lisa's Ways to use it- oldie but goodie
After rummaging through all my stamps, my oldest is a 1990 SU stamp set- Construction.
I bought this set of four stamps with the intent of making birthday cards for my DS & dear nephews when they were toddlers since they LOVED digging in the dirt with their Tonka trucks, bulldozers, etc.
Even with good intentions... today is the first day I've used it!
I first tore the sandpaper to make 'hills' of dirt and have 2 layers. I stamped the images on the sandpaper, but decided to stamp, color with markers & fussy cut in white CS.
After positioning the bulldozer & truck on the sandpaper, I die cut the sentiment in various shades of browns to resemble different color boulders & dirt. Apparently I have lost the letter 'D' die, so I stamped and fussy cut it. To match the letters I stamped over each die cut letter in soft suede. So much for the various shades of letters, but I think it adds some dimension.
I then made my own caution zone frame by using yellow & black large chiseled sharpie markers and a ruler, making diagonal lines.
I used 2 sizes of rectangular dies to cut the frame.
Thanks Lisa for the trip down memory lane with using oldies but goody stamps!

Outstanding card for a little boy!! So clever to use the sandpaper for the construction site; also love how you made your own caution zone background! What fun you must have had creating this card!

So clever to use sandpaper, it's so perfect, I love the machines going up and down the sandpaper hills, and the yellow and black border is fantastic. What a great card!

This is brilliant. I always regretted not getting I Dig You, I didn't even realise there was an older digger set. Your sand pit is great, adding fun texture, and the background paper is perfect. My brother loved his Tonkas too.
