Love it when challenges align in a magical way! Lisa, this week's Ways to Use It hostess, requests fairy tale images for her challenge, Celebrating Hans Christian Andersen. Susie, this week's Teapot Challenge hostess inspiration is from Disneyland's Wonderlands. It's Fantasyland for me!
My favorite childhood books were Andrew Lang's fairy tale collections. I vividly remember the wonder of the Blue Book of Fairy Tales. I was so happy when I found the book at an antique store. Those tales are still marvelous reads
I stamped the image on four pieces of card stock, colored and fussy cut into pieces for layers. I assembled to create dimension and shaped the flower and skirt petals. The text bg is a French fairy tale,A Fairy's Blunder from one of Lang's collections. I printed the text and used chalk to create shading behind the fairy. Hope you'll come join these fun challenges! So beautifully inspired! Love how you used the text as the background. Your fairy is gorgeous in the rich purples next to the greens & yellows. Love the shading under her. Fabulous dimension and texture. Wonderful card! TFS

I remember those books too - though pretty sure I never had the blue. This is so fresh and Spring-like - she really reminds me of the flower fairy books too.

I am going to have to get a few of the Andrew Lang stories for my great nieces, I bet they would love them. Such a stunning image on this card. It reminds me of the fairy images I used to make my great baby niece's quilt a few years ago. I love that you added a story behind the image too. So beautifully done with the dimension and coloring too. Thank you for making such a stunning card for my challenge.

Carla, this is the perfect card for this challenge. Do you have more that one of these Baker fairies? She is beautiful and your care has it all. Color, dimension, and movement. Love it.
