Susie has a super-fun Tickle a Teapotter challenge this week - you'll find it HERE. I had such super fun making my Adventure and Frontier cards, and I think I'm going to go for a full house, LOL.
For my Frontierland card I used the Diorama Card tutorial, making mine a little shallower, wider and taller.
I used kraft for the base and the saloon doors, using lots of brown inks DTP to create faux wood. For the doors I used Labels 18 from Spellbinders and cut them down a bit. I cut 4, and cut frames from two of them, and scored the full ones into panelled wood. They're stuck to the frame, the brads are purely decorative. To keep them closed I had to sacrifice two sets of my hoarded BG magnets...I didn't think a latch would look quite right.
The middle layer has the bar counter with Oswald the Banjo-playing Owl perched on it, and Fred. The wallpaper on this layer is some old newsprint DP which I thought looked in keeping.
The background is a good old honkytonk piano scene - what Wild West saloon didn't have one!!
I used my label printer to create the sign, adding a moon to earn extra cookies. First time I used distress inks and they weren't drying on the label so I added EP and tried to emboss it. Dumb idea on thermal labels, rolls eyes. So I remembered I had some yellow StazOn, and that worked fine second time round.
