I'm the Ways To Use It hostess for today and our theme for this week is ribbon. You see my ribbon backing up my masked and painted leaves. I used ribbon as an accent on my card today. Ribbon doesn't have to be an accent, it could be your focal point or used in a very clever way (like my co-hostesses).
My leaves were inspired by a young children's painting project I saw on Pinterest. I was looking for bulletin board ideas for my daughter's teacher and stumbled across the pre-school project. I thought to myself, I can die cut some leaves and do that on a card front. Voila!
Thanks for looking!

So pretty! It reminds me of a technique I used to do as a kid - we'd take a cut out shape and color blocks around the edge with crayons, then use a pencil eraser to push the color from the shape out onto another sheet of paper. The effect was similar! I'll have to try it again - maybe we can create a grownup version! I love that you used acrylic paint - I just unpacked mine and I'm itching to paint something now. Thank you for playing along with my Falliday Fest challenge!
