This is my card for CC604. Vicki is our hostess and she chose crumb cake, sahara sand and strawberry slush for the color trio. Dessert is texture. I couldn't work it in this week.
I started my card this week by choosing my stamp set. The four feathers stamp set is one of those that you can stamp in any color. Thanks to my teamie Barbara for a little assistance there.
With that info in mind I decided to stamp my own background. Inked the stamp with sahara sand ink and then stamped off once. I used my crumb cake marker to go around the outside of the stamp for some contrast. On a few of the feathers I added a little of the strawberry slush along with the crumb cake for interest.
Once the background was done I used the MFT Blueprints 15 dies to cut this piece. I used the Blueprints sketches as inspiration and modified to make it work for my card.
On the crumb cake background, I used the Stampin'-Up "weathered" stamp and inked it up with sahara sand ink. From there I assembled my card. Since Vicki selected 2 neutral colors this week, I used chocolate chip (also a neutral) as my layering coloring to highlight my images.
The birthday word is a PaperTrey Ink die and the circle dies are from CottageCutz. That's my sample for this week.
Hope you can play along with us. Maybe you could even use our colors and make a card for the Falliday Challenge that just started on Sunday. Get info here on this big event.
And for lots more inspiration, check out the other DT samples. The team has created some awesome cards for you viewing pleasure.

I was just going to say how neat how your dp matched your feathers, looked so well done, just read how you made it yourself...one should remember to do that more often, instead of looking at like 500 papers trying to find one you like...well done. Perfect design for these too. reminds me of when I was little we had chickens on the farm and sometimes I would go out and look for clean fluffy feathers, wash them and comb them out with an old toothbrush and then paint them and re fluff so I had colorful fluffy feathers. Now e have the dollar stores...lol...TFs..:0)

Mary, this is gorgeous, and I love the layout/sketch! Stunning use of these colors, and I love the leaves and how you've colored them. Really a favorite! Hugs, sweet friend! xoxo
