The color challenge team is celebrating our 600th challenge(!), in a special way! Each of the designers picked one of our favorite picks for past color challenges and you get to choose with color combo you would like to use this week (or more than one if you choose)! Each of the design team will also be offering a prize to the favorite of the cards made with their particular challenge.
So the colors I picked were from CC566: melon mambo, pumpkin pie, pretty in pink and for dessert: your favorite green. When I first hosted this color challenge I made this card here and this card here.
For today’s card I wanted to try the shaving cream marbling technique. There are lots of video tutorials demonstrating this technique such as this one right . Mine didn’t quite work out like the tutorial but I still like it. I learned that this technique (at least when you do it on mixed media cs) does not respond well to shimmer spritz spray (it darkened up the hue and left little blotches which I did not like – lesson learned for next time) – but I still liked it well enough to use in my card. I made a frame for this panel by die cutting one white frame and one black frame with a slightly smaller opening to create a thin, black mat when they are glued together. Love that look! Die cut the palm fancy die and I think the rest is clear enough.
Come join us, you may be chosen to be a Guest Designer and/or win a prize!

Wow Maura, this is absolutely gorgeous! I think the marbeled background looks stunning! I love the colors you used and the soft texture this gives to the card. The two-toned frame is gorgeous and really showcases this beautiful fern frond to its best! The sequins are the perfect finishing touch on this amazing card! ~Karen.
