WooHoo it is Tickle a Teapotter time of the month. Jan aka Heartsong47 aka de mama, has taken us for a beautiful walk down memory lane. We are going on a summer picnic!! There is something very special about juggling a plate of food, trying not to spill your drink and swatting flyÂ’s all at the same time....ahhh but we loved it. We spent half of our lives at the beach but dad absolutely refused to have a picnic on the sand so we always had our picnics in the bush by a lake or river.
Here we have Stevie and Norma enjoying a summer picnic by the lake. It looks like Norma has carefully co-coordinated their outfits by matching her floaty device to Stevie's sunhat. Truth be told the floaty was originally her hat. I made a slit in the lake and popped Norma's legs in the water but it looked like she was walking on the water so I quickly removed her hat and made it into a floaty. Job done!!
About the card - no prizes for guessing this was made using Distress Ink with the smack and squirt technique, using foam blending tools (rectangular foam pads). Smack distress ink pad onto aluminium foil then squirt on some water. Use the foam blending tool to mop up the inky water and apply to the card. Keep building up the colour - to make the colours more intense, allow a few minutes drying time between coats.
I like to use the TH rectangular foam blending pads, especially using the side edge to get an area marked out. I started this card by doing the lake first, then roughly made a mask to cover it while adding the green ink. A little bit of extra grass was added using pencils. I lightly used white and blue pencils to give the sense of movement in the lake. The trees and leaves were stamped after the background was bone dry, that way the colours don't soak into the background colours.
Stevie (he looked a bit like Stevie Wonder when I tried to draw his sunglasses), I digress, and Norma were mainly coloured with distress inks but I did use a Spectrum Noir pen around the edges.
Thank you for looking. It is great being back in Teapotterville, have a lovely week ladies.

Only you could work a Stevie Wonder reference into a tickle card....that had me laughing out loud! And your polka dot floatie/hat is quite spiffy...you should see the giant floatie I have stashed away for my lake vacation in a week or so..it's a chair with its own floating footrest..it'll be a miracle if I can get it inflated!! Anyway back to your amazing card..I love it..thanks for describing your process...always want to hear how everyone makes their cards. Love the basket and the fence..someone is going to be a very lucky Teapotter if they find this in their mailbox. So glad you're back!
Thanks Susie, I just spit coffee all over my keyboard. This is the funniest and cutest thing I have ever seen. An yes at the age of sixty I remember when you-tube was a float device!!

This is adorable and I have stalked you and Priscilla and these crazy birds for some time. The local stamp store here is closing and I gave in and bought the bird Dies and accessories not sure if I'll buy the stamps. I'll have to see what I can do with the dies first. I know you do remarkable stuff with your stamps so I might have to give in. Lol
