For Lydia's MIX170 April Showers Bring May Flowers challenge. I've been pushed out of my comfort zone at both ends of this week!
Most of our recent April showers have been snow and hail, so I am not sure what sort of flowers they will bring - and I had just sown two packs of wildflower seeds in a border before it turned so cold.
I was going to finger-paint as the ultimate in free-form - and then remembered that I have two deep parallel cuts right across the finger I would use. So...I have a couple of sample packs of the most beautiful Arches board, it's over 700lb weight, and I knew it could stand up to as much water as I threw at it. It dictated the size of the finished card...I misted it lightly with water, and then just drew everything in.
The problem was to make it mixed media because I liked it as it was...but I decided that I could use distress inks and embossing powder to create a light and airy sentiment in keeping with the floral panel. We're in another hail shower right now so I can't really capture the sparkle, but I used Iridescent Ice ep after sponging, and stuck the light card to double-sided adhesive before die-cutting.
