I was inspired to make this card by seeing two back-to-back challenges that were related - one to use trees (WT580 - 4/21-16) and another to make something from nature (F4A322 - 4/22/16).
This tree ring stamp was begging to be used, and I still haven't figured out how I decided to stamp it on aqua....other than I like Aqua! It was a fun card to make, especially when I discovered some Aqua colored wood grain paper in my stash. I added a bunch of multi-sized sequins to brighten up the card and provide a 3-D element, which was the "dessert" in the F4A322 Mother Earth challenge.
There are a couple of things that I did on this card that aren't obvious, but might be of interest. The Washi label tag was made with 2 layers - the inside blue tag is from the punch, the larger brown tag was a wider strip of paper, with the ends made by punching the strip using the ends of the punch. I simply placed the ends of the strip into the punch, from the outside, and clipped the little bit that the punch didn't catch.
The other thing I did was use a piece of fun foam (grey), cut slightly smaller than the image panel, as a way to add dimension. I've been watching a lot of Jen McQuire videos and it's something she recommends doing so that your card doesn't get mooshed in the mail.
