A big congrats to Julie, the newest Featured Stamper! She has a gorgeous little gallery & after much browsing, I kept coming back to THIS card. I kept the super color combo & layout, but I used different images, different dies & made my own bg instead of using designer paper.
To make my card, I put a piece of rich red c/s into my Misti, stamped the butterflies w/ Memento, used white & colorless blender Prismacolor pencils on the butterflies, added the bright white dots w/ a white gel pen, overstamped w/ Versafine, then repeated until I had a full bg. Just a note hereÂ…I wouldnÂ’t try to skip a step & use the Versafine before blending w/ the PrismasÂ…they will smear that ink like butter on hot toast!
The red & kraft layers have the lower edges rounded. I added the greeting, a die cut border & the layered stars to finish.
Congrats again, Julie! Closeups & the inside are on my blog:The Write Stuff

Julie,
Love your take on Julie's card! The brilliant red with the black and white panel is genius! It's so striking the white within the butterflies, a wonderful attention grabber!
The card you chose is one of my all-time faves. I love, love, love this color combo! Not traditional, but they work so well together. I love your take on my card. The hints of white you used are just perfection. Thanks for sharing your technique. I may have to give it a try. So glad you enjoyed my Gallery and were inspired. TFL!
