my heart is so joyful today, here's why. Recently I received a PM from someone in our community asking if I might be interested in some Asian stamps she was looking destash. She had noticed that I enjoyed creating beautiful women. Of course, I said, 'l'd be honored to give her stamps a home in my cozy studio.' And so in a flash, I received a box that included parts of today's card. Isn't this Asian woman gorgeous???
Now Ally, when I saw your sketch challenge last night, I
had no direction...until I turned it on it's side and then I JUST knew how to proceed. My beauty is inked with the fabulous Memento Luxe in Lilac Posies and the face was masked for the VersaColor Black. The head dress was embellished with Micobeads in a custom mix and stickled with fuchsia. The calligraphy stamp (I'd love to know what is meant, anyone???) anchors the left side. I used Washi and tissue paper tape for the vertical element. The oval is part of a large fan included in the stamp set. I ran it through the paper crimper to mimic the folds of a fan. Also that wonderful tassel...doesn't it have a great sense of movement? The FAN mail is from Stamp in the Hand embossed with the Vintage Purple ep.
To the gentle giver, thank you so very much for allowing me to bring her forth...I am still thinking of what name she should carry...it needs to be one that
honors her beauty.
Thanks all for stopping by...

Wow, Susan, you really rocked this sketch and have used a wonderful colour combination! You have certainly used your gifted stamps incredibly well - what a lovely lady to gift these to you. Late last year I was the very lucky recipient who was gifted many SU stamps sets, a little old but unused!! Made my day and I am still to use them all!!

Wow - this is stunning. Awesome take on the challenge. Sometimes it works better for me to turn it and obviously, it worked great for you on the side. Everything works together so well. Amazing card!! TFS

You made a beautiful card and used the sketch well. If it were me, I would name it after the woman who gifted the stamps to you, to show my gratitude. It's a pretty common practice. They do it with buildings and scholarships all the time. ;-) xoxo
