PTI has been offering some images already printed on watercolor paper which come in very handy. I wanted to try Lexi Daly's rubber cement technique from this week's "Make-It-Monday". I brushed on the rubber cement rather than drizzling it since I wanted a subtler background for the flowers. The bg was done first and then I watercolored the image.

So gorgeous! Love using rubber cement as a masking medium, but never thought of it this way. Your flowers are amazing and love the subtle background choice! TFS

so so glad to come across this in the Favorites thread. Beautiful, Sallie. I bought a bottle of the rubber cement recently...you have encouraged me again to venture out.
Until the peonies in my garden bloom, I will think on yours.

WOW! I looked at this for such a long time! Not only is your painting mind boggling, but your backgrounds are done so beautifully, complienting your artwork and never over powering it!
