I have often referred to my creative process as anything but a straight line......sort of like driving from Southern Calif. to San Francisco in northern Calif. by way of New York. I started off admiring Sabrina's adorable yellow teapot doll houses which were this week's inspiration for the MMTPT. Somehow, yellow teapots morphed into bright red mushroom houses. I colored the houses with copics. Lisa's WT challenge to use plaid gave me the idea of using red plaid to paper piece the mushroom tops. The mushrooms were printed from pinterest...they actually have "mushroom coloring pages", so I added this to the F4A gallery which called for using adult coloring pages. After stamping the tree bark image with stayz on black ink, I did a watercolor wash with coffee...great idea, Dini, to use coffee. I cheated a little and added some T H Distress inks for a little more color. Finally, for the CT1216 Forest Friends, I colored and fussy cut the bunny and frog. I liked it better before I added the flowers and green swirls, but I have learned the hard way that glue is extremely permanent only when you don't want it to be.
Have a terrific weekend. TFL, Francie

So fun, Francie! Love the plaid mushroom top- what a hoot! And I like the sprinkling of flowers around the border- I know you didn't like it but I think it adds to the whole whimsical feel.

Oh my gosh, what a fun, bright and cheerful card! I love everything about this, the 'stunned' look on the bunny's face...the overexcited frog, the background tree. Fantastic!

Fantastical card Francie. Your cards are so bright and fanciful because of your meandering creative process. Think of all the things you'd miss if your traveled on the freeway in a straight line!!
