A big congrats to Lisa, the newest Featured Stamper! She has a lovely gallery and after much browsing, I kept coming back to THIS card. I didnÂ’t realize it was her case of another card until IÂ’d already finishedÂ…oh well! I really loved the big flower on the side so I kept that & the layout, but I didnÂ’t have a die like she had so I used a stamp for my flower, different embossing & die cut shape for the white panel.
Since I didnÂ’t have the wonderful daisy die Lisa used, I pulled out a really old stamp set w/ these big half flowers on them & stamped them on top of a background I made by smooshing the Distress inks onto an acrylic block, spritzing w/ water & pressing onto water color paper. I cut out 3 of the flowers & 3 leaves plus 1 little half flower. The white bg was die cut & embossed before attaching to a black square. I stamped the greeting around the corner & added some of the little dots image around the corner and also inside the background.
Congrats again, Lisa! Thanks so much for looking! Close ups are on my blog: The Write Stuff

You need to dig out your really old stamp sets more often Julie. This is so pretty! Love that you did it so large and so powerful. Another totally gorgeous card my friend. Hugz

I know exactly which card you picked because, I had to wipe the drool off the keyboard from seeing it... love that you have such a cool big flower to do this with, the textures are fabulous Julie

Thank you, Julie! Judy (jadekay) started a firestorm of beautiful cards with her original of this big offset flower design. I'm thrilled that you liked my version and I LOVE what you did with yours. The coloring technique you used with the Distress on acrylic block is a favorite of mine and looks just wonderful on your stamped image. Love it. Hugs!
